About Us

Welcome to Charles Evans Elementary

Our new school opened its doors in February of 2008 and was built with sales tax funds from the 2003 ¼ cent sales tax election by the City of Ardmore.  We serve approximately 400 students in grades 1-5.

Charles Evans celebrates their students each month with the All Star Student Recognition Rally using the legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden’s children’s book Inch & Miles:  Journey to Success.  Charles Evans is also increasing students’ exposure to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) opportunities.  This is helping our students with exploration, critical thinking and generating and testing hypotheses.

Charles Evans has an active Girls on the Run program, honor choir and after-school tutoring opportunities.

Our principal, Denise Brunk, joined the ACS family in 1998 as an English teacher at AHS.  The following year she was assigned as an Assistant Principal at AHS.  In 2006 her expertise as principal was needed for Franklin Elementary and then on to Charles Evans Elementary in 2007.  Mrs. Brunk left the district for a short period, but returned to the family in 2013 as the Principal at Charles Evans Elementary.  Mrs. Brunk received her Bachelor’s Degree from East Central University and her Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma

Breakfast is served at 7:25 a.m. in our cafeteria.  We are currently serving breakfast and lunch free for all students.
Classes begin at 7:55 a.m. to end at 3:15 p.m.
